Helping Hands of Cambria County
Helping Hands of Cambria County, Inc. is a Christian housing ministry that seeks to eliminate substandard housing in Cambria County, Pennsylvania. This committee works with new homeowners referred by HHCC to establish a manageable garden design and assists with planting and gardening instructions.
Before
The new homeowner works with a garden club member to transform her front landscape.
A plan was developed before work begins.
After
One section of the front yard under the tree is edged and mulched. Decorative elements are added.
After the ground is prepared, the plants and shrubs are planted and the area near the front of the house is mulched.
The work team poses with the family after the job is completed.
Helping Hands of Cambria County was previously affiliated with Habitat for Humanity. Habitat for Humanity is a nonprofit organization that helps families build and improve places to call home. In their own words: “We believe affordable housing plays a critical role in strong and stable communities. “
